Bright Horizons is looking to drive parent retention and increase engagement. Ultimately enhancing the partnership between parents and teachers. Empowering parents to have information at their fingertips and teachers to focus on caring for the children.
Building on the experience and technical research to date, our team established a value framework for Bright Horizon’s app ecosystem, with an initial aim to prioritize the functionality and design approach for an impactful Parent app. This was accomplished through the creation of a product flow, refined high fidelity wireframes, visual exploration, user testing, technical planning, and a completed application. We also created a project plan for MLP, plus a long-term roadmap for future innovation.
After establishing a strong technical foundation from our initial phase through extensive user testing, wire-framing, and visual exploration, we continued with the high-fidelity design and a series of development sprints to get to MLP.  These design updates funneled through planning and a user testing feedback loop, ensuring we are hitting the mark with parents. This feedback helped influence both the MLP as well as the long-term roadmap. The team was setup in a way to work through the backlog established in our initial phase with scheduled releases to the market.  As we neared launch, we transitioned into final UAT, system integration, performance, and security testing, ensuring the app was ready for parents to enjoy.
As part of the overall project, we created moodboards, showcased our visual exploration (within brand guidelines), and created an extensive design system foundation. In the design system we included a library of type hierarchy, color palette, layout and spacing guidelines, a full iconography set, and core UI components.
